Oasis of Knowledge: Albert Einstein Education and Research Center offers an intimate account of the design process and impact of Safdie Architects' first project in Brazil. Broken down into four chapters, the video explores AEERC’s project vision with voices from the client, Safdie Architects’ craftsmanship, design process of the garden atrium skylight, and collaboration with various teams to achieve a well-crafted building. A project that brings medical, nursing, graduate studies, and medical research activities under one roof, the film addresses positive impact the building brings to its users and the communities nearby.
"In this building, you're part of a community of spaces all the time. You're aware of the number of students in the building because you actually see them. But it's not overwhelming because it's all through planting and gardens and separation. So it is more of a communal building, of a gathering, of a community working together, researching than it is compartments of research and learning."
