Safdie Architects Senior Partner Jaron Lubin will serve as an instructor for the Council on Vertical Urbanism’s new Global Tall Building Certification (GTBC) program, teaching as part of its Principles of Design curriculum. Drawing on his experience leading complex mixed-use and vertical urban projects, Lubin will focus on how tall buildings can respond to context, public life, and the broader city.

Beginning March 17, 2027, the nine-week professional program will bring together practitioners and academics across the disciplines involved in tall building design and development. Hosted by the College of Architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, the hybrid program combines a four-day in-person intensive with eight weeks of live online instruction.
