This time lapse video from December 2017 shows part of the week-long process of lifting the sky conservatory at Raffles City in Chongqing. Hoisting the 10,000 square meter platform in sections was another engineering challenge in this landmark project. Contractors employed a synchronous hydraulic lifting technology to hoist the center section, which weighs 1,100 metric tons. When complete, the conservatory will link four of the 250-meter tall towers in the eight tower development.
