Lecture | IIA 2020 NATCON

Moshe Safdie delivers digital keynote to Indian Institute of Architects

Moshe Safdie discusses resilience in design of architecture and the public realm at the IIA National Convention 2020. As Master Presenter, Moshe joined other prominent speakers, panelists and delegates in the discussion. Beginning with his time at McGill and Habitat '67, Moshe walks us through several of his key projects through the years and how they have contributed to the core design objectives of Safdie Architects today.

"In this time of globalization, where everything becomes the same everywhere, what can we, as architects, do to find the particular? What can we do to design buildings that celebrate particular cultures and particular histories?"

- Moshe Safdie

The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) group, comprised of over 3,000 members, held its first virtual NatCon due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The theme ‘Transcend’ focused on self-reliance and resilience in architecture, with an inclusive approach to accomplish an equitable built environment for all sections of the society.
