Jaron Lubin speaks on panel: "Future of Airport Design"

Jaron Lubin, Principal at Safdie Architects, participated in the Chicago Architecture Center (CAC) panel, "The Future of Airport Design," on February 4, 2020. The panel brought together leading architects charting new courses for airport design.

Lubin spoke about the need for airports to represent the quintessence of place. As the first, and sometimes only, experience arriving visitors have of a city or country, he says airports are uniquely situated to celebrate their context as gateway. Through the lens of Jewel Changi Airport, on which Lubin served as Safdie Architects' Design Team Leader, he explores the question: "How can we reshape the airport's iconography?"
