Award | Marina Bay Sands Receives 10 Year Award of Excellence

Council on Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat

The Council on Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat has announced the 10 Year Award of Excellence Winners. Culminating in a keynote presentation at the 2020 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference in Chicago, IL, Marina Bay Sands is named an award recipient.

According to CTBUH, “The 10 Year Award recognizes proven value and performance over a period of time. This award gives an opportunity to reflect back on buildings that have been completed and operational for a decade, and acknowledge those projects that have performed successfully long after the ribbon-cutting ceremonies have passed.”

Safdie Architects’ Marina Bay Sands is celebrated by this award for being a beacon for Singapore – an urban microcosm representative of Singapore’s culture, climate and contemporary life. Longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall, the “SkyPark,” located 200-meters above sea-level, includes both public and private amenities with a sweeping view of Singapore. Containing a public observatory, garden, jogging paths, and a 151-meter infinity pool, the Council observes that Marina Bay Sands proceeds – and pioneers – a global uptick in designing for quality recreational and social spaces in the sky.
