David Orens, AIA, NCARB

Principal

David Orens, AIA, NCARB, is a Principal and Senior Project Manager, responsible for responding to client’s program needs and leading coordination of all consultants and specialists. He manages overall project delivery, and that the team meets the design schedule through monitoring of key milestones and by tracking critical path decisions. He is also responsible for quality control, with a keen understanding of technical and constructability reviews and BIM management. Over his 23-year career with Safdie Architects, David has worked closely with Moshe Safdie and senior technical teams on complex projects including the United States Federal Courthouse in Springfield, Massachusetts, the National Campus for Archeology in Jerusalem, Habitat Qinhuangdao residential complex in China, the Monde development on the East Bayfront in Toronto, and the Centro Hospitalario Serena del Mar in Cartagena, Colombia.

David joined Safdie Architects in 2000, was named Associate Principal in 2014, and Principal in 2023. David earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University and Master of Landscape Architecture at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is a Registered Architect in Massachusetts.
