Jeff Huggins
Senior Partner
With an exceptional ability to unify complex technical elements into cohesive design solutions, Jeff Huggins brings a pragmatic, stabilizing, and strong leadership presence to Safdie Architects. As Senior Partner, Jeff draws on over two decades of design and leadership expertise, having been instrumental in some of the firm’s most ambitious urban-scale projects. Known for his rigor in planning, detailing, and executing sophisticated building typologies—particularly high-rise towers and bridging structures—Jeff’s work is integral to advancing Safdie Architects’ transformative vision.
Throughout his career, Jeff has managed and led the design development of landmark projects, with particular focus in Asia. Most recently he spearheaded the design and management of the Surbana Jurong Campus in Singapore, a groundbreaking approach to workplace design that anchors the Jurong Innovation District and is the country’s first business park set within a rainforest. For Raffles City Chongqing, a 1,127,000-square-meter complex in China, Jeff oversaw the design of the commercial buildings, facades, and the engineering of the Crystal—the world’s longest horizontal skyscraper (300 meters) connecting four towers at 250 meters above the ground. Jeff’s contributions include the Hotel Towers at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, where he spent three years in the firm’s Singapore office as resident design architect and special design consultant for Las Vegas Sands. Jeff is currently the project director for the major addition to this iconic, national symbol.
Pivotal to the firm’s trajectory, Jeff both leads ambitious project pursuits and competitions, and applies his management skills to work with the firm’s senior leadership to grow and improve the practice. Deeply committed to Safdie Architects’ founding principles, he plays a crucial role in mentoring project teams, instilling the skills needed to deliver the complex, visionary work that defines the practice.
Jeff holds an undergraduate degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a master’s in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
