Tunch Gungor, NCARB

Associate Principal

Tunch Gungor is the Director of Interior Architecture at Safdie Architects. He has extensive architectural design experience with a focus on the integration of each project’s interior design, finishes and furniture with its architecture to yield a well-executed, balanced and seamless result. With a careful attention to detail and a comprehensive approach, Tunch worked as the Project Architect and Designer for the retail podium at Raffles City, Chongqing, as well as the retail mall of Marina Bay Sands, for which he relocated to Singapore to work as a resident architect. He is skilled in collaborating effectively with client teams, international design consultants, contractors, and government authorities. His portfolio of projects includes the Halic mixed-use project in Istanbul, Turkey, and the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. 

Tunch joined Safdie Architects in 2001 and was named as an Associate Principal in 2017. Tunch earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1993.
