“To say I am excited is an understatement. I am extremely humbled and honored! The benefits of this scholarship go beyond just paying for college. Architecture is my passion. The opportunities and mentorship this scholarship provides is truly a dream come true. In the language of the Diné; Ahéhee'! (Thank You!)”
- Geremiah Tallas

Safdie Architects is pleased to announce the recipient of the Diversity Advancement Scholarship: Geremiah Tallas. Geremiah is a first-year architecture student at San Antonio College on the path to transfer to Cornell University. Prior to his architectural endeavors, he served in the U.S. Army for five years as a combat medic. Aspiring to earn a Doctor of Architecture (DArch), Geremiah aims to be an inspiration for others - influencing culturally responsible design through the lens of his Native American heritage.

The Safdie Architects’ Diversity Advancement Scholarship, administered by the Architects Foundation, is designed to engage and support recipients throughout the course of their education. In addition to receiving a stipend towards tuition for each year of study, recipients are offered a paid internship with Safdie Architects and will have key members of the firm designated as mentors to provide guidance and feedback for the duration of their architectural studies.
