Safdie Architects is thrilled to welcome Soo Jin S. Yoo, LEED AP, as an Associate Principal to join our expanding practice. Passionate about the reinvention of housing typologies and inspiring placemaking, Soo Jin has worked extensively across a range of project types including residential, workplace, cultural and educational facilities.
She brings over 20 years of architectural design experience to the firm and will be working to advance the Habitat Timber initiative, an ongoing project working with industry to develop a pre-fabricated timber residential module system, and several long-term master planning efforts.
Previously, Soo Jin served as a Senior Associate at MERGE Architects, and a Senior Designer at Charles Rose Architects and Machado Silvetti. She has taught design studios and served as an adjunct professor at Wentworth Institute of Technology and a design critic at Harvard University, Boston Architectural College, and Northeastern University.
Soo Jin earned a Master of Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Rice University.
