Shot over the course of five years, “A City Sets Sail” is the story of the building of Raffles City Chongqing, one of Asia’s most innovative and audacious construction projects in recent years. With total access to the remarkable people that brought the development to life - including the architects, developers, government figures, and construction teams - the film is a portrait of human ingenuity and persistence, pushing the limits of what is possible in the fields of building, architecture and city planning. Set in the backdrop of the large city, the film draws attention to Chongqing's continuous strive for innovation and breakthrough in urban design and development, amidst a rich display of the city's charm and cultural heritage as an ancient capital and maritime port. A new era is now heralded in this new landmark at Chaotianmen.

"A City Sets Sail" is directed by Arthur Jones, the award-winning filmmaker behind The Six. Telling the story of RMS Titanic's Chinese survivors, The Six was released in cinemas across China from April 2021. It has screened as part of the official selection in major film festivals at home and abroad, recognized with multiple awards, and has received extensive coverage in domestic and international media.
